 gically as an asset for and from evaluation is essential for IEG's dual
  value proposition of providing accountability and learning through evidenc
 e-based insights about what works, why, and for whom.\nA useful strategy es
 tablishes goals, assesses gaps in the current state, and lays out a practic
 al plan for getting from present state to future state. The IEG data s
 trategy does just that. Aiming towards a future state unpacked from th
 e vision and a systematic diagnostic of the current state of IEG's data
  ecosystem, it uses recommended action-areas to establish priorities, sets 
 guiding principles to validate actions, and identifies broad actions, provi
 ding the groundwork for a detailed action plan. \nThis session takes p
 lace in the first year of implementation and shares lessons for developing 
 and using data strategies.\n
