  a new approach to develop a customized data management maturity model. Thi
 s model considers data management as a set of business capabilities. Each c
 apability is supported by a set of components such as processes, data, role
 s, and tools. The model offers a pre-developed customizable list of capabil
 ities and components.\nSuch an approach allows to simultaneously:\n\n
 Measure the current level of data management maturity, as well as to s
 pecify the next level that needs to be achieved\n
 Perform gap analysis and develop an implementation plan\n
 Specify KPIs and priorities for the capabilities and their components\n\nTh
 e proposed new maturity model will also be illustrated with a case stu
 dy, demonstrating tangible results.\n
