Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
Q. Now that the event is officially an all-digital program, what should I expect the live conference to be like?
A. DATAVERSITY has a new online application called SpotMe that will be used for the live 2021 EDW conference sessions and networking events. The SpotMe application can be viewed from any device. It will give attendees ample opportunities to interact with and learn from industry experts, and network in real-time with attendees through private and group networking opportunities. Once you're officially registered to attend, you will receive an activation email that includes your unique link to participate in the event and a link to our short attendee video seen below. If you have additional questions or have not received your activation email, please reach out to us directly at events@dataversity.net, or registration@dataversity.net if your question relates to your registration.
Check out our brief video on how to use the EDW SpotMe application as an attendee once you're registered for the event.
Q. When will I receive the login credentials I need to access the live online event?
A. At least five days before the event officially begins, DATAVERSITY will send all paid-in-full registrants an email with the link to activate and set up their profile in our event app, and once received you can begin to plan the event activities they would like to participate in.
Q. What kinds of networking activities will be presented online during the event?
A. The DATAVERSITY conference committee is working to build special online community events within our new event application to bring forward elements of networking that one would typically find at an in-person event. As an attendee, you will have control over how public your profile will be, but we encourage all attendees to join pre-scheduled meetups, participate in live topic and sponsor-driven forums, and chat with like-minded peers in private meetings throughout the week.
Q. Will the sessions be recorded, and what access will I get as a registered attendee?
A. All registrants who have paid in full for the conference, will have access to the live and recorded sessions outlined within their chosen registration package. If you select the Monday Tutorial Only pass, you will get access to all the tutorials being presented on Monday, plus the free keynotes, In-Perspectives, and other "free" sessions delivered throughout the week.

NOTICE: Regarding COVID-19 – Updated April 12, 2021
To our Enterprise Data World community,
All of us at DATAVERSITY and DAMA International would like to thank you for your continued interest in our annual conference.
When we first began planning the 2021 Enterprise Data World Conference (EDW) we were hopeful that we would be able to conduct at least a portion of the program in person at our San Diego venue. Unfortunately, however, it is now clear that the in-person part of the event will not be possible due to state and local limitations resulting from COVID-19. We will therefore be conducting EDW as an all-digital program this April.
The main COVID restrictions are obvious to everyone, but as it relates to EDW 2021, there are some specific limiting factors that forced us to this point, including:
- California regulations currently do not allow groups of any size (i.e., greater than one person) to meet indoors, and with case numbers still climbing very substantially, there is no sign that this restriction will be lifted in the near future.
- San Diego County was recently moved to the highest risk level, designated as the “Widespread” risk level for spreading the virus, under which all public dining facilities can only operate outdoors, bars and pubs are shut down, and retail stores can only operate at 20% capacity. The guidance for hotels and lodging states that hotel operations with large meeting facilities must keep those areas closed.
- Under California’s updated Regional Stay Home Order, hotels and lodging cannot accept or honor out-of-state reservations for non-essential travel, unless the reservation is for at least 14 days, which is the minimum time period required for quarantine.
With these details in mind, it is clearly impractical to expect attendees to travel to San Diego two weeks in advance and self-isolate for 14 days in order to attend the event in person. As difficult as this decision is for us, we strongly believe we are doing the right thing by adjusting the event to be presented to all attendees online.
As it relates to your participation, you have the following options:
For Currently Registered Attendees
- You may leave your registration as-is, and participate in the online EDW program, which will include almost all of the educational sessions which you were originally registered for. Recordings of all sessions will also be made available after the conference.
- You may cancel your registration without a penalty until March 19. After that date, you may request in writing to transfer your payment as a credit towards a future DATAVERSITY event or digital product. All registration changes must be submitted in writing to registration@dataversity.net.
- Please cancel your flight and hotel reservations as soon as possible to avoid any potential fees. To make changes or cancel your hotel reservation, call +1-888-627-7054.
For Speakers
