NOTICE: Regarding COVID-19 – Updated December 11, 2020

To our Enterprise Data World community,

All of us at DATAVERSITY and DAMA International would like to thank you for your continued interest in our annual conference. Honestly, even as we approach the critical event planning stage, we're unsure if we will be able to run a traditional "in-person" EDW conference in April 2021. No one in the events business can know for sure, as it depends on many factors coming together for us, including vaccine availability, CDC guidance, local and federal regulations on group meetings and gatherings, corporate travel policies, etc. The list is quite long. Therefore, to account for this uncertainty, we are currently planning to ensure the event is a success no matter how these factors play out. This means that if the in-person event becomes feasible, then we will conduct EDW as a hybrid face-to-face/digital conference offering sessions both in-person and live online simultaneously, but if in-person attendance is not possible for any reason, then the program will be converted to an all-digital virtual event.

We are monitoring the pandemic news and San Diego County guidelines for gatherings, and working directly with the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina so we can ensure the desired environment and care are taken for those attendees who are able to join us in-person at our event. We will be in touch with all registrants as we work to clearly define the onsite safety precautions, and will communicate any event changes as quickly as possible should they occur.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we manage to navigate through these exceptional circumstances.

Thank you,

Q. What provisions do you have in place to ensure the safety of the attendees who are able to attend Enterprise Data World (EDW) 2021 in-person?

A. We are working closely with the hotel staff to ensure we can provide a safe and comfortable space for all who attend and to meet the recommended CDC and state-mandated guidelines. We will be limiting session attendance and will utilize some larger spaces to conduct the training in order to offer comfortable spacing for all. As things continue to evolve, we will provide more specific details to registered attendees. If you have additional questions, please reach out to us directly at

Q. If I register and the in-person component of the event is canceled, will I get a refund?

A. Since the event is being built and produced as a hybrid conference, currently offering both in-person and virtual access to the sessions being presented, we hope to avoid unnecessary cancelation and refund requests. All registrants will get access to both versions of the sessions they select, therefore retaining the training and networking value we provide at all DATAVERSITY events. You can find our event cancellation policy here. We intend to follow these guidelines closely. If you applied a previous event credit to book your registration for this event, there may be limitations on this policy. Please contact us at if you have additional questions.
